Hayward Dykes Jr., Named as Honorary Commander for Hurlburt in 2014

It was recently announced that Hayward Dykes, Jr., a founding partner with Conerly, Bowman & Dykes, LLP was recently selected to participate in Team Hurlburt’s Honorary Commander Program for 2014. Mr. Dykes was one of 10 other community leaders to be selected from a pool of over 25 nominations to participate in the Honorary Commander Program.

As part of the one-year program, honorary commanders are paired with Air Force commanders to foster positive relationships between Hurlburt Field and the surrounding communities. Mr. Dykes has been assigned to the 24th Special Operations Wing Command Chief (24 SOW/CCC) he will have the opportunity to participate in Hurlburt Base functions and discuss matters that are important to both the base and local communities. Mr. Dykes will also have the unique opportunity to tour each of the wing’s four groups where he will learn about the 1st Special Operations Wing’s mission in more detail.

Mr. Dykes after learning of his selection stated “I am both honored and humbled to be recognized as a community leader and as a participant in this great program. I have heard nothing but great things from others in the community who have participated in this program and I look forward to interacting with the men and women of the greatest military in the world.”  Mr. Dykes will be inducted in a ceremony with other honorary commanders on November 1, 2013.
